Une Crepe S’il Vous Plait

Submitted by Carol Sorgen, Paris, France

You can’t eat your way through Paris without one of their signature dishes—the crepe. Whether you eat a savory crepe at a neighborhood bistro or enjoy a sweet crepe purchased from a sidewalk cart, you’re sure to enjoy this famous French fare.

A basic French crepe is a simple creation made from flour, milk, eggs, and butter. But it’s what you do with that crepe that transforms it from comme ci, comme ca to delicieuse! Go simple with granulated sugar and melted butter, sugar and lemon juice, jam or jelly, or Nutella. Or for heartier fare, try ham and cheese, asparagus, spinach, eggs, or ratatouille.

Whichever way you go, your first crepe will most certainly not be your last.

Bon appetit!
