Welcome to December's TraveLetter...
Take a look at our website. Although we think it’s already top-notch, our producer, Marina Farrell, has managed to make it even better. We’ve also added columnists to the mix. This month we open with Travel Vitals by Marina, Travel Luxury by Ron Stern and Dream Trips by Judith Kirkwood. In the coming months you’ll see the debut of Globalfoodie (by me, Denise Dubé) and a few other treasures.
See the new columns here: http://www.justsaygo.com/columnists/columnists.html.
Carol Sorgen is now JustSayGo’s Executive Director of stories and I, Denise, am Managing Editor of Columns. We’ve come a long way and we’re going even further—so stay tuned and keep reading. Since the last newsletter our group has been to Switzerland, Vietnam, Hawaii, Brussels, Miami and a host of other places. If you’re not traveling we hope your coming along for our ride—and enjoying the view.

JSG PRODUCT REVIEW
by Vivienne Mackie, JustSayGo Fiesta editor.
Foil Those Thieves
Bags snatched, straps cut through, back packs ripped. We’ve all heard horror stories of someone being pushed, bags being snatched and a holiday being ruined when people lose all their valuables, or—even worse—it may have happened to you or someone in your family. Whether you travel a lot or are just planning a one-of-a-kind, special trip, you want to be sure that your valuables are secure.
Travel Smith comes to the rescue of all travelers. They offer special waist packs, shoulder bags, and a bag convertible to a backpack. These bags all have a stainless steel cable that runs the length of the straps, making it (almost) impossible for a thief to sidle up in a crowded place and slice quickly through the strap. Also, all the pockets are zippered and a security clasp hooks through all zipper pulls.
For a number of years now, I’ve used a medium-size bag like this, which I wear with the strap across my body, and have been safely and comfortably through some extremely crowded and potentially unsafe places in various parts of the world. I thoroughly recommend one of these bags for peace of mind when traveling.
They come in four colors-red, black, taupe, or leopard.
Waist packs: #1328 Medium $49; #1329 Large $59
Shoulder bags: #9452 Medium $59; #9451 Large $79
Convertible bag: #1472 $69

BOOK REVIEW by Carol Sorgen, JSG Executive Editor
Staying Fit While on the Road
I don’t know about you, but any fitness routine I have at home usually falls by the wayside when I’m traveling (of course, schlepping luggage through airports, train stations, and hilly cobblestoned streets should count for something!). But if you want to add a bit more of a workout regimen—whether at home or on the road—The Fit Traveler is a great little pack-along. A new “Senior Edition” is just the thing to take with you, even if you’re not a senior.
Written by “fitness globetrotters” Kari Eide and Lissa Mueller, this compact—just 52 pages in a handy spiral-bound format—comes complete with a free stretch band. There are easy-to-follow exercises (with photos to show you just what to do), for upper body, lower body, and abs; a glossary; and diet tips (hmm… does cutting down from two éclairs to one count as a diet tip, I wonder?).
Other books in the series are The Fit Traveler: Take Your Workout With You; The Fit Maternity: Before & After Edition (Feb. 2007); and The Fit Disability: Sit-Down Workout (September 2007).
You can find a store that carries The Fit Traveler: Senior Edition at www.thefitnessboutique.com.
